As expected of an MMO, sometimes in FFXIV you might find yourself surrounded by other players. And they might be annoying.
Maybe you’re standing next to a summoning bell talking to your retainer and there’s a crafter next to you banging their hammer on something. Well you can actually turn that sound off.
In System Configuration > Sound Settings, scroll down to Player Effects Volume. There are sliders here for yourself, your party members and for all other player characters.
Sliding this to zero will make it so you no longer hear other players’ crafting, gathering, and combat sounds.
Another common annoyance is when players stand around and repeatedly spam an emote with a voice line, like laugh. You can mute character voices with the voice slider, and this performance slider is for all the bards you see performing songs in limsa.
Personally I like leaving the performance sounds on because sometimes you come across some really nice ones. But what’s your sound setup? Are you muting everyone else or do you like hearing what’s going on?
@latetothepartyfinder Hate hanging out in major cities because of how much noise other players make? Well, here’s a little tip on how you can mute other player’s actions including Crafting sounds, Emotes and other annoying tasks they can get up to! #Ffxiv #ffxivonline #ffxivtiktok #ffxivtiktok ♬ Road Trip – Johnny Salib
